Birthday in 3 weeks
I’m having a big birthday party in 3 weeks, on Friday August 17th.
Welcome!
The Toll of FUN
Wow, who would have thought I had this much fun during summer? If somebody knows, it’s Saunalahti for sure. That’s my cell phone operator here in Finland.
The phone bill came and reminded me of all the nice moments last month. A hot summer month filled with festivals and other festivities has ensured that my ear has been firmly attached to the phone for several hours of talking fun. I’ve been calling up friends, relatives and important people all the time! Having a social life and generally enjoying it takes a toll on your wallet (and other stuff like health and work etc.). The phone bill is 145 €. It hasn’t been that much since, well um… last summer! Usually it’s in the ballpark of 20-30 €.
Included there’s probably the bill from me being in Sweden and Holland in the last week of May, so the calls from abroad did generate some extra costs. I’ve also been calling my sister a few times last month, and she lives in Sweden. Luckily, my GPRS is capped at 10 euros even at unlimited use so that’s safe to have. Now, what puzzles me is the 13 euros for phone services and another 14 euros for other service numbers (Numeropalvelupuhelut ja Palvelunumerot)! Huh? That’s 27 euros of unspecified fun, fun, fun!? Could it be me calling for a taxi and what not, but 13 euros for 4 calls? Who or what have I been calling, or has someone been using my phone without me noticing? I am pretty sure that calls to hot sex lines are disabled from my number. I really need to check up on that. I’ve never needed those services, and sure as hell won’t need them in the future.
Oh well, I have until end of month to pay this, so it’s not really too bad I guess. I was going to save money for New Year’s Eve (and a long trip to maybe south America), but I guess I have to start saving somehow else and/or get extra revenue from another source than my day job.
Next weekend I’ll be visiting the town of Kotka again. It sure has been a long time since I was there. The event is Kotkan Meripäivät. Not so big and fun as Pori Jazz (which I will miss), but hey, I have friends and important people there that I’d rather want to see than call all the time :)
Ah, do I hear you ask for photos? You mean this site is photography related somehow?
Okay then, as you may have noticed, there’s a already lot of photos online, even if merely only a few random picks I hope they’ll satisfy you for now. More are coming up later during the course of this week, hopefully. Unless I get occupied with other things. You wouldn’t even know how busy of a man I am! I mean … blurbing on the phone takes lot of time! ;)
Don’t be trigger-happy, or you could shoot yourself in the foot
Okay guys, so here’s the deal:
There is a slight problem with releasing the photos me and my friends have snapped. Currently there are over 2 200 photos from RMJ and Tuska taken with my camera alone. That is almost 6 GB worth of images (more than one normal DVD). I think I have more photos somewhere else, but that’s how many I found on my laptop and this other computer. So far I have uploaded 51 random images, go look at them here. My friend Antti has lots of photos too that he’s going to release on my site, so hopefully you understand this little delay we’re having :)
There is no way anyone has the time or interest to browse all the photos to find just one picture. We will be hand-picking out a select few images that we think have the most entertainment value, but as promised, we will try to release all of the images (excluding the super-blurry ones and the ones that have too much nudity ;).
We will have to put the date and time visible by each photo, so if you remember when and where I snapped a pic of you, you will have a better luck finding yourself in the photo gallery. This will require some modification of the gallery software and we’re on it!
Expect some technical difficulties for a few days.
Mokoma at Tavastia 2007
Tuska festival for 2007 is now officially over. Last band to play on the main stage was Stratovarius and although not my main preference in music style, I did enjoy their live gig very much.
After Tuska me and some friends went to Tavastia to listen to more live music, namely the band Mokoma. We didn’t bring in our cameras, because they are forbidden there. Not to worry, exclusive pictures are still coming up sometime soon. Besides, there were more than enough media coverage in the front row. I talked with media from New York, also someone else who was from Germany. Two girls had come all the way from Japan!
The concert was awesome and it was a great Tuska-finale for me and my friends. Or almost all of us… One had decided to go home early, but had fallen asleep in the train and ended up somewhere very far, so we had to go get her back home by car :D
After a few other escapades in the night by car I finally got home and into bed at 3 am. I wonder when will I have the time to get some sleep.
Tuska 2007
Woohoo!
I love metal. Okay so I love everything and everyone when they’re drunk on festivals :D
Finnish people are notorious for being shy and introvert, but not during days like these!
Haha, last two days has been quite crazy, today I’m trying a slower pace.
Photos photos.. oh yea, were taking them and publishing later tonight. Last night was spent elsewhere, as most night for the past 10 days! I’m almost never at home! I’m having too much fun and too little time to sit by the computer…
